Pecan Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons butter melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups chopped pecan
- Some pecan halves for decoration along the rim
- 1 Piecrust blind baked
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients except for pecans and mix thoroughly
- Pour chopped pecans into the empty pie shell followed by the filling
- Watch as the pecans miraculously float up through the mixture
- Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees
- Then turn temperature down to 325 minutes for 25-30 minutes
Notes: 12/28/13 - Followed directions exactly except for the cooking time which was extended due to a cool oven. Excellent.
